The purpose of the ZAI scholarship is to promote the continued education of ZAI’s employees and their immediate families and to recognize those who have demonstrated academic and/or employment excellence.
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria: (1) be a current ZAI employee or immediate family member (spouse, child, or dependent), (2) be accepted at an accredited two- or four-year college or university to pursue a degree beginning either the Fall or Spring of the 2021-22 academic year, and (3) submit a completed application package per the requirements stated on the application.
The Scholarship Committee reviewed all submissions received by the May 14 deadline and has made its selections. Congratulations to Thirein K., Vanessa G. and Jackson M.
Thirein graduated from high school on 6/2/21, making the honor roll in every quarter of his high school career. He will attend the University of Maryland College Park to study Psychology. His ultimate goal is a doctorate and a career as a clinical psychologist.
Vanessa graduated from high school on 6/2/21 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She played volleyball all four years, serving as a captain in both her junior and senior years. She will attend James Madison University in pursuit of a BS in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience and a minor in American Sign Language. Her goal is to attend graduate and medical school and become a pediatric psychiatrist.
Jackson also graduated from high school on 6/2/21 and has maintained a high GPA throughout his high school years while playing both ice hockey and lacrosse and serving as an assistant captain on both teams. He will attend James Madison University, majoring in Business/Marketing. While he does not yet have a specific career goal other than “marketing,” he is leaning toward sports marketing.
We are proud of our 2021 ZAI Scholarship Program winners and thank each applicant for his or her interest.
