Speed Dating… err… Training at FCC

Thursday, February 15, 2018

February 14 marked the second annual Speed Training event at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). ZAI staff in the FCC Library collaborated with FCC staff members and outside vendors to arrange an educational twist on speed dating. Guests made their way from table to table in a meeting room decorated with pastel-colored hearts and cupids for brief trainings on many of the resources offered by the FCC Library and other parts of the agency. After participating in each mini “date,” attendees were able to enter a Valentine’s Day-themed raffle for a real date night basket. Additional incentive to attend the event was provided by ZAI in the form of a delicious spread of breakfast pastries.
One of the major changes from last year, spearheaded by the FCC Library staff, was the decision to not only hold the event at FCC Headquarters, but to include the Gettysburg field office, as well. So on February 15, ZAI staff and a few FCC employees took the show on the road and re-created the experience for the largest FCC field office. Speed Training was well-received in both locations!
