ZAI’s work with the Library of Congress (LOC) Preservation Directorate includes inventory and reformatting master negative reels of microfilm in a variety of formats, such as newspapers, serials, legal gazettes and periodicals, and special collections. The LOC preservation reformatting program manages more than 3 million paper sheets that are microfilmed annually, producing more than 6,000 microfilm reels and 10,000 microfiche sheets. ZAI creates and/or updates holding records and item records for up to 43,000 items annually.
