The purpose of the annual ZAI Scholarship program is to promote the continued education of ZAI’s employees and their immediate families and to recognize those who have demonstrated academic and/or employment excellence.
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria: (1) be a current ZAI employee or immediate family member (spouse, child, or dependent), (2) be accepted at an accredited two- or four-year college or university to pursue a degree beginning either the Fall or Spring of the coming academic year, and (3) submit a completed application package per the requirements stated on the application.
Congratulations to this year’s recipients: Sheerin N. and Eden C.
Sheerin is the daughter of one of our FDA contract employees. Sheerin is no newcomer to higher education as she has already earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Science and a Master’s degree in Public Health. She is now set to attend Northeastern University to become a Physician’s Assistant (PA). After watching illness disrupt the lives of several family members due to lack of preventative care, her ultimate goal is to “become a primary care PA who uses medical knowledge and health policy advocacy to serve communities with limited access to a regular primary care provider.”
Eden is the daughter of another of our FDA contract employees. Eden recently graduated from high school and will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Towson University. She was able to follow a Health Professions track while in high school and obtain a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license. She has also completed the requirements to be an Emergency Medical Technician and just needs to take the final certification exam. Her goal is become a nurse and to “help underserved communities, use her education to raise awareness on how to show acceptance and cultural appreciation for minorities, and fulfill her lifetime dream of becoming a nurse.”
We are proud of our 2025 ZAI Scholarship Program winners and thank each applicant for his or her interest.
