8/25/2006 - Goddard Library Web Team Wins Goddard Honor Award

THE Goddard Library Web Team received a Goddard Award of Excellence in Quality and Process Improvement for development of an innovative in-house usability testing solution as part of their recent website redesign. The award was presented at a ceremony on July 25, 2006.

THE Goddard Library responded to the challenge of bringing its website into conformity with the NASA Portal templates as an exciting opportunity to develop and conduct an innovative in-house usability study. With the resulting usability study as a guide, the subsequent redesign was based on what the Library’s customers said they needed, not what the Library’s Web Team thought the Library's customers needed. An unexpected outcome was that the Web Team has since successfully shared the usability process with others at Goddard, as well as the NASA Langley Library. As a subcontractor to IIA, ZAI manages and operates the Goddard and Wallops Island Libraries.
